What type of report should I create?

The type of report you create depends on where you are reporting. In some places you choose. In others, the organization asking for the report decides.

A Program Profile is not a report type. Every program needs a complete profile before you can create any report, so you will always start there.

If you report in Blackbaud Verified Network

You can create either type, and both are shared with Blackbaud. Here is how to choose:

Choose an Impact Snapshot if you want to share who you reached and what the program cost, and you do not have outcome data you are ready to report. It takes less time and True Impact estimates your outcomes for you.
Choose a Full Report if you track your outcomes and want funders to see your measured results rather than estimates.

If you are not sure, start with a Snapshot. You can upgrade it to a Full Report later and keep everything you entered.

If you report in Charity Navigator

To be eligible for a Charity Navigator impact rating, you need one Full Report at the final stage, from your most recent program year and within the past 4 years. You can report on more than one program. Charity Navigator chooses which program report to rate.

If a funder asked you to report

When you allocate a donation to a report, your funder's request sets the report type. If your funder requires a Full Report and you started a Snapshot, your report upgrades automatically. You will see a message when you next open the report, and a label at the top shows which funder requires the Full Report. Nothing you entered is lost.

If more than one funder is attached to the same report, you complete the most detailed type any of them asked for. Each funder sees only the type of report they requested.

Common questions

Can I create a Snapshot and a Full Report for the same program in the same year? No. Each program has one report per year. If you want to add more detail, upgrade your Snapshot to a Full Report.

Can I change a Full Report back to a Snapshot? No. A Snapshot can be upgraded to a Full Report, but a Full Report cannot be changed back.
