Tips for Sharing Your Social Impact Report With Others

Congratulations on recently completing your Social Impact Report!

Your report is a powerful summary of your overall program and can help you communicate with many stakeholders about the value of your work. Below, you'll find easy-to-use templates and tips to help you share your Social Impact Report and build new champions of your important work.

Thank you for your hard work on your Social Impact Report. We greatly appreciate the time and effort you invested in this process.

Who Should You Share With and Why?

You might consider sharing your report with the following audiences:

Audience Why it matters
Donors Demonstrates the real-world impact of their gift and encourages continued giving
Board Members Supports strategic decisions and reinforces program value
Funders & Grantors Strengthens grant applications and builds funder confidence
Community Partners Builds credibility and opens doors for collaboration
General Public Raises awareness of your mission and attracts new supporters

When to Share

Timing your report share strategically can increase engagement. Consider:

  • Year-end giving season (November–December) — Impact data is a powerful motivator for year-end donors
  • After a grant cycle closes — Attach or reference the report in follow-up communications with funders
  • Annual meetings or board presentations — Use it to open the conversation about program performance
  • Awareness days or milestones related to your cause or program anniversary

Sharing annually is a great baseline, but don't hesitate to reference specific metrics from your report throughout the year in newsletters, pitches, or conversations.
