The Reporting Process

This article walks through the stages a nonprofit moves through when reporting on a funded program through True Impact, from the moment a grant is approved to the final report at the end of the program.

1. Forecast Reporting

Once the grant is approved, the nonprofit submits a Forecast Report. This report captures the nonprofit's initial estimations of the program's impact, based on what they expect to achieve by the end of the program. The forecasting stage can be skipped if the organization is reporting on a program that has already ended, in which case they will report on actual results.

2. Feedback Process

After the nonprofit submits an initial draft of a report, it goes through a feedback process before it's published:

• True Impact Feedback: True Impact staff review the draft and provide feedback.
• Donor Feedback (optional): The funder may also review the draft and provide feedback. This step is optional, so it may not happen for every report.

3. Final Reporting

After the program ends, the nonprofit returns to their report and updates it with final, actual results in place of the earlier estimations.
